Do you pre heat your teacup or teapot (or gaiwan, chawan or whatever you use) before you make your Tea?

I donβt. My reasoning is that the water is so hot anyway so it will warm the mug.

It would be interesting to know how much the temperature differs between cold and heated mugs.

Okay. Try to measure temperature a couple of times. In the beginning they probably are almost the same.
