Your spices is a good idea, but try them out beforehand. I for example like sage (the type for cooking) but only with honey. If I dont have honey at home I would make from like, cardemum, cinnemon, anis seed etc instead. They taste good as they are or with sugar

#2 Yup, and its good when you have a cold since it looses mucus. For us with a 2 year old whos at daycare it's a must have in the evenings so that we all can sleep

#4 No but it's easy. ½-1 teaspoon of anisseed per cup. pour water thats 100 degrees centigrade over it and let it steep for 5-10 minutes. If you have less anisseed, crus it a little before adding the water
